Have been a fan of mystery novels and SS since my school days… In fact never let go of a chance to read his work, maybe it would be a book lent by a friend or a pdf version I found online.

Having read most of the works of the author and kinda used to his routine, I must say this was nothing too different. Characters that have larger than life images, surreal ambition which can be fanatic as well as destructive, games of vengeance and the best planned strategies suffering a sheer downfall are the common highlights shared by other works of the master author.  When I started reading him initially, the path treaded by the protagonist to glory beating all odds, resonated with wit and perseverance. Lately it has become kinda repetitive and predictable. There comes a point when you think, is that all SS is all about?

Toby Temple, master stand-up comic, literally rises from the ashes to create magic in tinsel town. And Jill Castle, this average girl with normal fantasies for her age, gets attacked by the bloodhounds of the field of theatre. She finally chooses Toby as her weapon to retaliate on all those who betrayed her. And she plays her part convincingly, with single minded determination.

Bottom line. ..not too bad if you are reading SS for starters.
